What is a good Chinese New Year gift for kids?

When should you order for Chinese New Year?
Order by January 2 and the book is on track to arrive by January 30, a week clear of the first day of the New Year on 6 February 2027. Ordering in November or December gives you more room still.

What do people ask before they order?
Will it arrive before Chinese New Year?
Yes, if you order by January 2. Order to doorstep runs 2 to 4 weeks: 1 to 2 weeks to personalise and illustrate (a digital preview reaches you within a few days), then 1 to 2 weeks to print and deliver once you approve it. January 2 leaves the full window and still targets delivery by January 30, a week clear of 6 February. Past the date already? Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly what is still possible.
Can grandparents and cousins be in the book?
Yes. The My People, My World tier includes up to five side characters, illustrated from your photos, so the grandparents, a cousin or two and the family dog can all sit in the story beside the child. On Look Like Me, extra side characters are $15 each.
Is a storybook a good alternative to an ang bao for kids?
It works best alongside one rather than instead of it. The red packet is tradition and nobody should skip it. The book is the part a young child can actually hold onto: it has their face and their name in it, it goes on the shelf, and it comes back down at bedtime long after the New Year visits are over.
Can the story be about the Year of the Goat?
Our ready-written titles do not have a zodiac storyline. With One-of-a-Kind ($108) the story is written from scratch for the child, so the Year of the Goat, a reunion dinner or a visit to the grandparents can be part of it. Custom stories sit at the longer end of the lead time, so message us before you order and we will confirm the date.
