Terms and Conditions

Welcome to StoryStars ("StoryStars", "we", "our", "us"). We create personalised children’s storybooks in Singapore. By placing an order, using our website, or communicating with us (including via WhatsApp), you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement to purchase from us. If you order on behalf of a minor, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian, or have obtained the appropriate consent.

2. Our Service

We produce made-to-order, personalised storybooks. Personalisation may include the child’s name, gender, likeness of main and side characters, and custom storylines. All prices are in SGD and shown on our site.

• Main Story: $39
• Main Character(s) personalisation: +$20 each
• Side Character(s) personalisation: +$5 each
• Custom storyline: +$20

Note: Prices may change from time to time. The price confirmed at order placement applies to your order.

3. Ordering and Approval

1. Order via WhatsApp using the links on our site and share the requested details (e.g., child’s name, gender, and photos if you want likeness).
2. Deposit: A non‑refundable deposit of $10 is required to start work.
3. Preview: We will send a draft preview for your review and approval.
4. Approval: You must check all names, spellings, photos, and details. Once approved, the book goes to print and changes are no longer possible.

4. Payment

The remaining balance is due upon your approval of the preview and before we proceed with printing. We will share payment instructions during the WhatsApp conversation.

5. Changes, Cancellations, and Refunds

• Deposit: The $10 deposit is non‑refundable once personalisation work has started.
• After Approval: Because products are custom‑made, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded after approval.
• Our Error: If we make a mistake that differs from the approved preview, we will correct or replace the book at no additional cost.
• Your Error: If an error exists in details you approved, reprints can be arranged at your cost.

6. Delivery

Timelines vary with the level of customisation. As a guide, full customisation may take up to 4 weeks to prepare the draft. After your approval, printing and delivery typically take 1–2 weeks within Singapore. We will update you if delays occur. Title and risk pass to you upon delivery.

7. Defects and Issues

Please inspect your order upon receipt. For manufacturing defects or transit damage, such as damaged pages, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and your order details. If confirmed, we will repair or replace the book. This does not cover normal wear and tear or damage after delivery. Also note that it does not cover illustration error after approval of preview.

8. Content Standards and Permissions

• You warrant that any photos or materials you provide are accurate, lawful, and you have permission to use them for personalisation.
• We may reject content that is illegal, offensive, or inappropriate.

9. Intellectual Property

• Customer Materials: You retain ownership of photos and materials you provide. You grant us a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to use, reproduce, and adapt them solely to create your personalised book.
• StoryStars Materials: We own all rights in our stories, templates, artwork, and designs. Your purchase grants you a personal, non‑ commercial license to use the physical book. You may not copy, distribute, or resell our content.

10. Privacy

We collect and use information to fulfil your order and communicate with you (including via WhatsApp). We use trusted third‑party services (e.g., email providers) to operate our business. For details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

11. Marketing

We will not use your child’s name, photos, or personalised pages for marketing without your explicit consent.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time by posting the updated version on this page. Changes apply from the date of posting.
